Rock Port Fire Department responded to 210 W. 2nd Street on Monday, December 29, 2025, for smoke in the attic. Once on scene they made both an interior entrance and an access through the roof to put out the smoldering insulation and ceiling trusses. Also assisting were the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office, Rock Port Police Department, and Atchison-Holt Ambulance.
