The MFA Oil Foundation has awarded a grant to the Atchison County Fair to assist with purchasing supplies to renovate the hog barn at the fairgrounds in Rock Port. The $2,000 will go toward the purchase of 40 pipe panels, Quickcrete, and lumber to bring the hog barn up-to-date. The renovations will increase the number of holding pens, replace the old wood with pipe panels, make the barn safer and more efficient for the hogs and showmen, and will provide better airflow to keep the temperature down during fair week, which usually takes place during some of the hottest days of the summer.

The MFA Oil Foundation provides support to nonprofit organizations that are working to improve communities where MFA Oil has a significant concentration of members and employees. Since it was established in 1998, the MFA Oil Foundation has awarded more than 3 million dollars in grants. “The MFA Oil Foundation is a great asset to the MFA Oil Company and the areas we serve. Supporting organizations committed to improving communities and the quality of life goes hand in hand with our cooperative principles of giving back,” says MFA Oil Foundation Chairman James Greer.

Presenting the check on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, were MFA Oil representatives Brian Watkins and Tony Johnson. Accept-ing the check were Atchison County Fair Board member and Tarkio High School FFA Advisor Dustin Lambertsen and Tarkio FFA member and Atchison County Fair hog showman Quin Staten.
