
Tracy Ann Whitaker, the daughter of Herman Leroy and Phyllis Arlene (Falconer) Jackson, was born February 10, 1965, in Fairfax, Missouri. She attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1983.
In 1985, Tracy was united in marriage to Derek Hogue, and they became the parents of three children, Luke, Heather, and Danny. They later divorced. On August 25, 2018, Tracy was united in marriage to Terry Whitaker and became stepmom to Jaime.
In her youth, Tracy started working for Tarkio Hy-Vee. She held numerous titles throughout her 41 years including Shift Manager, Assistant Produce Manager, and finally the store Accounting Coordinator. She retired in June of 2023 due to health concerns. While her children were young, Tracy also enjoyed babysitting for local children.
Tracy was a member of the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Auxiliary, Tarkio. She loved living life to the fullest. She enjoyed bowling, reading, needlepoint, and doing crafts. She loved cooking and listening to music. Tracy also loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events. Tracy passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at her home in Tarkio, at the age of 60.
Besides her parents, Tracy was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Shirley Jackson; great-nephew, Tyler Jackson; and mother-in-law, Marie Whitaker. Survivors include husband, Terry Whitaker; children, Luke (Rudy) Cox, Heather (Jeremy Field) Hogue, Danny (Melissa) Hogue, and Jaime (Tim) O’Conner; grandchildren, Katrina, Raven, Jacobi, Brady, Maddie, Eli, Jackson, Winston, Jayden, Haven, and Alexi; great-grandson, Caspian; siblings, David Jackson, Jerry (Janie) Jackson, and Martha (Denny) Mendenhall; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2026, at First Baptist Church, Tarkio, conducted by Pastor Tate Walker. Open visitation begins at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, January 25, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, prior to the service. Interment will be at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Memorials may be directed to Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199, Tarkio. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
