• Showing at the Paramount Theatre in Rock Port: “Carson City Raiders” with John Wayne, “Dark City” with Charlton Heston and Lizbeth Scott, and “Kentucky Moonshine” (A Valentine midnight show).
• William Sutter, Sr., told that he has been delivering the milk to Rock Port for 40 years and is now bringing that phase of business to a close.
• Mr. and Mrs. Nels Nelson of Rock Port will observe their 55th wedding anniversary on Monday, February 12. Following their marriage in 1896, they lived on a farm eight miles west of Westboro until they moved to Rock Port in 1938.
• The Clifford Bowman family of rural Rock Port has four sons currently in the service. Kenneth, aged 22, is with the Marines in California and has been in the service for four years. Victor, 20, is with the Army in Japan. Jerry, 19, and Bob, 17 1/2, left Tuesday to join the Marines.

• Showing at the Paramount Theatre in Rock Port: “Rollerball” and “Old Dracula.”
• The Rock Port High School Basketball Homecoming coronation saw Susan Adamson crowned as queen and Kent Wanamaker as king.
• Mr. and Mrs. Duane Shallenberger bought the Connie Field residence located at 702 Underwood Drive.
• The Ralph Stoner estate land sold at public auction for $116,800 or $730 per acre to Robert Gebhards of Tarkio. The land is located eight miles south and one mile east of Rock Port.
• The Rock Port Volunteer Fire Department will host its Firemen’s Ball Friday, February 20, at the Memorial Building in Rock Port. Music will be provided by the Salt & Pepper band.
February 8, 2001
• Two new businesses have opened in Rock Port. Awesome Threads, located at 311 S. Main, is owned by Betty Gaines and Sandy Shaw. The other new business is Used Car Connection at 403 W. Hwy. 136, owned by Charles Weaver and Rich Rivers. The used car lot is located at 403 W. Hwy. 136.
• Dustin Sapp, a junior at Rock Port High School, was selected by the National Youth Leadership Forum to participate in a national forum on defense, intelligence, and diplomacy in Washington, D.C. Some of the activities planned are: visits to Andrews Air Force Base, the Pentagon, The Smithsonian Museum, and more.
• This week’s Rock Port High School Senior Spotlight is Hallie Aleyda Clodfelter. Hallie enjoys watching The Simpsons and Friends, listening to ACDC and Sir Mix Alot, playing with her dog, hanging out with friends, and cruising. Her favorite classes are cadet teaching with Mr. Skillen and pub with Mrs. Dickkut.
• Reverend Randall Weldy is the new pastor at the Rock Port Baptist Church. He and his wife, Joyce, are both originally from Indiana.
• Rock Port High School Wrestling Homecoming Queen was Melanie Moore and King was Jordan Shrader. Crownbearers were Allison Lawrence and Bryan Evans.
