The Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) board met February 18, 2026, at the ACDC office. Present were Lori Seymour, Eryn Stepp, Josh Oswald, W.C. Farmer, Craig Corken, and Jill Davis, board members; and Monica Bailey, director.
The meeting was called to order by Lori Seymour.
Board members voted to approve the January meeting minutes.
The January financials were approved as presented.
Director’s Report
The bank accounts and safe deposit box have been updated.
Seven from Atchison County (plus four from Atchison-Holt Electric) attended Great Northwest Day. Attendees were able to visit with Rep. Farnan and Senator Black. The #ACisAwesome (Let’s Chat About It!) booth display was created from comments on ACDC’s Facebook post and is traveling around Atchison County this month.
A total of 116 memberships have been received as of February 18, 2026.
Grants available include: Community Cleanup and Beautification ($25-$500 per grant; $1,500 remaining), Nonprofit Support (maximum of $2500 per grant; $10,000 remaining), Youth Beautification (maximum of $500; $1,500 remaining), Business Improvement (maximum of $1,000-$2,500 per grant; $13,000 remaining), New Business (maximum of $1,000; $4,000 remaining, must meet specific requirements).
2026 Business Improvement grants have been awarded to Rock Port Do It Best (to fix exterior walls), Cooper Properties (to replace a roof on rental property), Power Washing Rangers, LLC (for new/upgraded equipment), and McNaughton Construction & Land Management, LLC (forestry disc mulcher).
A New Business Grant was awarded to Lucas Honey.
Community lunches are scheduled for March 4 in Tarkio, March 11 in Fairfax, and March 18 in Rock Port. Attendees are asked to RSVP by the Friday prior to the lunch they plan to attend.
Old Business
Potential bylaw changes were reviewed. The board will discuss and amend those at the next meeting.
New Business
The Adult Educational Scholarship Committee met and the application and process are being developed. The board determined that this committee would review and award scholarships as they are received.
