Whether you’re a seasoned actor/actress or a budding thespian (ages sixth grade and up), the Liberty Theatre is holding auditions for Disney’s “Descendants: The Musical” Sunday, March 15, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Monday, March 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Audition materials will be provided. Not all roles require singing, but if you audition for a role that does, you must be prepared to sing at the audition. Liberty Theatre is located inside the Atchison County Memorial Building at 417 S. Main Street in Rock Port.

Tarkio Elementary School is hosting the Scholastic Spring Book Fair through Friday, March 13. The fair is open to Tarkio and the surrounding community. The fair is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will close Friday, March 13, at 8:00 a.m.

The Nodaway County Household Hazardous Waste collection site will be open Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Nodaway County Maintenance Barn, 1516 East Halsey Street, Maryville, Missouri. Residents of Atchison, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway, and Worth counties are welcome to participate (ID required). There is no fee to drop off. No commercial or business waste can be accepted.

The Fairfax FFA Chapter is hosting a fish fry Sunday, March 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Fairfax High School FACS/Ag building. Meals are $12 for adults, $8 for children 5-12, and free for children under 5.
