Wayne Thomson was the guest speaker at the Tarkio Rotary Club meeting. Mr. Thomson was a career history teacher until he retired and moved back to the family farm near Fairfax, Missouri. In the mid 60s, he was a member of the first Rotary Group Study Exchange. They visited Thailand, Hong Kong, India, and Pakistan and other oriental countries. He told of riding the bullet train in Japan and having a tailor-made suit that fit perfectly and was made in one day. He also saw the dedication of a water well that had been dug by Rotarians for a village in India. He expressed his gratitude for the once-in-a-lifetime experience he received from Rotarians.
