Six members of Allen-Schiffern Unit 199 met on March 9, 2026. We were joined by a new member. Welcome to Unit 199, Carma.
Judy gave an opening prayer.
Michaelle led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble.
Linda took roll call with members giving their hours of service to veterans.
Barb read the minutes for November 2025 and February 2026, which were both accepted.
Sheridan gave the treasurer’s report which was accepted.
The District 4 meeting was held at Parnell with three members attending. Linda gave a short report on that meeting.
Barb gave a report on our membership.
County Government Day will be March 25 and members will prepare sandwiches and cookies on March 24.
We may have a high school girl who would like to attend Girls State. A meeting will be set up to go over the program with her.
Take-in for the spring rummage sale starts March 30 and will be Monday through Friday, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The last day for take-in will be Wednesday, April 9. If a different time is needed to drop off donated items, contact Linda Payton at 660-623-9399, Barb Hines at 660-254-2787, or KC Hines at 660-623-9297.
The dirt and gravel work has been completed on the north side of the building for a shipping container that will be used as storage for our rummage sale supplies.
All members were asked to tally their hours and money spent for their community service activities. If you have not reported any hours at our meetings, please call Linda as soon as possible.
The fall sale has been scheduled for October 9 and 10. Mark your calendars!
