Rock Port Food Pantry 

The Rock Port Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry is low on the following items: cereal (Raisin Bran, corn flakes, Cheerios), stuffing mix, Chicken Fried Rice Chicken Helper, Tetrazzini Tuna Helper, Cheeseburger Macaroni Hamburger Helper, white cake mixes, fudge brownie mix, peanut butter, strawberry jelly, grape jelly, cooking oil, pineapple, Minute Rice, mashed potatoes, spinach, diced tomatoes, beef stew, chili, cream of mushroom soup, vegetable soup, saltine crackers, canned chicken, chili beans, pinto beans, ranch dressing, peaches, apricots, fruit cocktail, mandarin oranges, chocolate pudding, vanilla pudding, vanilla icing, chocolate icing, pancake mix, syrup, pasta sauce, elbow macaroni, cherry jello, grape juice, floor cleaner, sponges, women’s shaving cream, conditioner, and women’s body wash.

The food pantry will be open Friday, March 27, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Donations can be taken to the Rock Port United Methodist Church, 211 W. Opp, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and placed in the shopping cart. Monetary donations may be mailed to the Rock Port Ministerial Alliance, P.O. Box 164, Rock Port, MO 64482.

Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry board meeting

The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry board met March 10, 2026, with 14 members present. Churches represented at the meeting were: Tarkio – Church of God, Presbyterian Church, Good News Church, First Christian Church, and St. Paul’s Catholic Church; Westboro – Methodist Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church; and Fairfax – Presbyterian Church, Methodist Church, Baptist Church, and Christian Church.

The meeting opened with prayer by Pastor Dush and Nan presided over the meeting. The minutes were read and approved.

Anita presented the treasurer’s report and it was approved.

There was discussion about several checks that had been given to the food pantry, but were deposited to the wrong account at the bank. Anita will address the bank about this situation.

Anita applied to the Carpenter Trust for a grant and filed the form for the IRS.

In January, 49  families were served representing 121 individuals. In February, 51 families were served representing 96 individuals.

Volunteers are asked to be at the pantry by 8:30 a.m  for the first week it is open.

The Westboro Methodist Church will open the pantry in March and the Fairfax Baptist Church and Fairfax Christian Church will staff the pantry in April. The next board meeting will be May 12 at 9:30 a.m.

The food pantry is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. the third and fourth weeks of each month. The pantry is also open the third Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

If schools are closed due to inclement weather, the food pantry is also closed. If the schools experience a two-hour delay, the food pantry will delay opening until 10:00 to noon.

The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry is currently low on the following items: grape juice (64 oz.), cereal, cake mixes (chocolate or white), beef and chicken broth (14.5 oz. can), sugar (5 lbs.), boxed macaroni and cheese, Tuna Helper, Jello and instant puddings (small boxes), pork and beans, ground beef (1 lb. pkg.), and dish soap.

Donations to the food pantry, especially monetary donations, are always appreciated. Donations may be sent to Anita Sutter, treasurer, at 26287 290th Street, Fairfax, MO 64446.

The food pantry is located at 315 Main Street in Tarkio.
