Dewayne Albert Schebaum, Jr., the son of Dewayne Albert, Sr., and Shirley Jean (Johnson) Schebaum, was born August 10, 1962, in Fairfax, Missouri. Dewayne attended Tarkio, Missouri, schools until his parents moved the family to Oakland, Iowa, where he attended school until he was a sophomore. He left home on a motorcycle and moved to Sublette, Kansas, where he lived with his aunt and uncle. His first job was a farmhand working for a few different farmers. He also worked for Sublette Coop, a feedyard, then went on to work at Chaplain Recycling where he earned his truck driving license. He then moved on to Excide, hauling hazardous chemicals. Dewayne realized he enjoyed driving a truck. He moved to Texas a few years later, where his parents lived.

In 1986, Dewayne was united in marriage to Karen Freeman in Texas, and they became parents to a son, Derick Scott. They moved back to Sublette and later they divorced.

On December 23, 1993, he married Theresa Lynn (Dragoo) Ellis in Rock Port, Missouri. They moved to Sublette for a while, then made their home in Clyde, Kansas. Theresa had a son, Derrick Ellis. A few years later, they moved outside of Rock Port in the country. He went to work for Sam Creed as a farmhand for several years until Sam’s passing. He continued driving trucks for local farmers, and the levee. Theresa passed away on December 12, 2017. She was the love of his life. He then moved into Tarkio. Dewayne continued driving trucks for local farmers and others until he went to work at MFA in Burlington Junction, Missouri, where he truly enjoyed his work and co-workers, until his passing.

Dewayne grew up listening to country music. He became a big fan of Hank Williams, Jr. (Bo Sephus). He wore a cowboy hat and belt buckle with Hank on them. Everyone said he looked like Hank because of his long bushy beard and that was how he acquired his nickname “Bo.”

Bo was a caring, giving, likeable, hardworking individual. Anyone who knew Bo saw how willing he was to help someone who asked. Throughout his life he became acquainted with a lot of people. He was a friend to everyone.

Bo enjoyed fishing, grilling out, hunting, camping, watching Nascar races with his nephews, and playing cards and dice on family night. He spent most of his life driving trucks, going places and seeing the beauty God created.

Bo was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Lynnn (Dragoo) Ellis; Dad, Dewayne Albert, Sr.; his brother, Brian Scott; his nephew, Ashton Meier; and his grandparents, Herald (Silvia) Schebaum and Oscar “Bill” and Gertrude Johnson. Survivors include his son, Derick Scott (Janet) Schebaum of Concordia, Kansas, and his stepson, Derrick Ellis (Lisa) of Tarkio; his mother, Shirley Schebaum, of Tarkio; brother, Ronald (Nancy), of Tarkio; his sister, Donna (Guy) Miller, of Sidney, Iowa; his grandchildren, Autumn, Lily, and Wyatt, all of Concordia; his step-grandchildren, Devin, Dane, Dalton, and Cami; and nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a host of friends.
