Speaker Janie York will present a program, “Remember the Ladies: Stitching Together a Revolution” on April 16, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Morton-James Public Library Kimmel Gallery, 923 1st Corso in Nebraska City, Nebraska, in conjunction with the America 250 Celebration in Nebraska City.
York’s presentation explores the role our founding mothers played in the American Revolution. The words of Abigail Adams resonate in the title as she beseeched her husband, John Adams, to “Remember the Ladies” as he and the Continental Congress created the document that would shape this new democracy. This presentation was developed in partnership with Nebraska Public Media as part of its engagement initiatives around “The American Revolution,” the highly anticipated new documentary from Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt.
