An early morning crash in the country in Atchison County killed an Omaha, Nebraska, man and seriously injured another on Saturday, April 4, 2026. The wreck occurred at 3:13 a.m. on 310 Street at Route N, 10 miles north of Mound City, Missouri. A 2013 Ford F250 was heading eastbound on County Road 310 when the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. The F250 travelled through an intersection and struck a tree, coming to rest on its wheels facing east. The 21-year-old male driver from Omaha, Nebraska, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced deceased at the scene at 4:10 a.m. by Atchison County Coroner Shawn Minter. A 21-year-old male passenger from Omaha suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mosaic Life Care by an Atchison-Holt ambulance. He was wearing a seat belt.
The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper R.K. Mott and MCIU #1 Corporal S.J. Force, who was assisted by Atchison County Coroner Shawn Minter, the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office, and the Atchison-Holt Ambulance Service.
