Joni True is retiring from Northwest Missouri Land Title Company in Rock Port. She has worked for the local title company since 1997.

Joni True of Rock Port is saying goodbye to the local title company after 29 years of service. She began with Raines Title in Rock Port in June of 1997, becoming a title agent. She has continued her service through two business handovers, one to Brett Hurst when the company became Farmers City Title and the most current to Troy Hayes, Shelby Hayes, John Teel, and Adam Teel with Nodaway County Abstract and Midland Surveying, who changed the business name in Rock Port to Northwest Missouri Land Title Company.

Over the years, Joni has worked with several others, including Richard Halliday, Linda Phelps, Amy Moore, and Marty Specking. She also worked in the Holt County office for several years before coming back to Rock Port around 2006. She now works alongside Britney Long, who will be taking her place, and Jaden Goodin.

Joni has stayed busy over the years, helping Atchison and Holt County home and land buyers find their piece of heaven here. She’s seen a lot of changes in those almost three decades, mostly in the cross over from abstracts to title insurance, but also how paperwork has changed to online documenting.

With her retirement, Joni is looking forward to being able to travel more with her husband, spend time with family, camp, garden, and quilt. But, she says that the people of Atchison County have been amazing to work with and she will really miss seeing them on a regular basis. Come congratulate Joni on a job well done at a retirement reception at Northwest Missouri Land Title on Main Street in Rock Port Friday, May 1, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
