
The Brownville Concert Series will welcome Manhattan Association of Cabaret Award (MAC) winner and acclaimed vocal powerhouse, Leanne Borghesi in her newest theatrical cabaret show, “Brassy, Bassey & Broadway.” The show will be in cabaret on Friday and Saturday, August 14 and 15, at 7:30 p.m., and in concert Sunday, August 16, at 2:00 p.m. The show is sponsored by the J. Randel Smith & Jane Crooker Smith Charitable Trust.
Join Leanne Borghesi, award-winning cabaret and comedic Chanteuse, for “a one of a kind, 75-minute comedic nightclub act of swinging jazz, bawdy comedy, and over-the-top bling.” (Broadway World). Recognized for her vibrant stage presence and red-hot mama flair, Leanne Borghesi has been hailed “a sumptuous feast of outrageousness” (Broadway World) while captivating audiences with her powerful vocal chops, bawdy comedy and brassy belts.
“Brassy, Bassey & Broadway” features iconic Broadway composers such as Jerry Herman, John Kander, Irving Berlin and Cy Coleman and Jazz composers: Henry Mancini, Harold Arlen, and more. The show presents a sizzling array of songs that are Brassy (Mambo Italiano, Meglio Stassera, Old Black Magic), tunes made famous by Dame Shirley Bassey (Diamonds are Forever, Goldfinger, This Is My Life) and celebrates the dynamic spirit and artistry of Broadway (No Business Like Show Business, I Am What I Am, When You’re Good To Mama). Leanne Borghesi’s vibrant performance career ranges from stages to screen in musical theater, cabaret/nightclubs and film with performances in such prestigious venues as New York’s Jazz at Lincoln Center, Frederick P. Rose Hall, Carnegie Hall, and San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts, Herbst Theater, and Marines Memorial Theater. Borghesi’s dynamic stage presence, powerful vocal chops and theatrical spin have led to sold-out shows in celebrated venues such as Birdland Jazz Club, The Triad Theater, Feinstein’s at the Nikko, The Laurie Beechman Theater, Don’t Tell Mama, The Duplex, Martuni’s and more.
