The Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) board met August 13, 2026, at the ACDC office. Present were: Lori Seymour, Mary Ann Hull, Craig Corken, Josh Oswald, Roger Martin, and Jeff Meyer, board members; and Monica Bailey, director.

Lori Seymour called the meeting to order.

Board members voted to approve May meeting minutes.

They also voted to approve the May, June, and July financials as presented.

Board members voted unanimously that the redemption of Farmers State Bank CD #552, the redemption of Farmers State Bank CD #781, and $20,000 be invested in a new four- or seven-month CD, to be determined by the treasurer on August 21.

Director’s Report

Bailey attended several meetings this summer, including Missouri Economic Development Council’s Annual Conference, Kansas City Federal Reserve Economic Roundtable, and Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation (NWMEF). She was also on the executive search committee that hired NWMEF’s new facilitator, Aaron Baker.

Bailey met with representatives of Great Jobs, a program that helps with training costs for adults over age 17 in healthcare, skilled trades, etc., noting that there are multiple sources of training assistance available right now.

All updated scholarship applications, including the new adult education scholarship, will be available on the education section of the ACDC website by August 19.

ACDC funding opportunities were highlighted in the paper and social media this summer. Funds remaining this year are:

• Community Cleanup & Beautification ($25-$500 per grant), $1,000 available

• Business Improvement (max $1,000-$2,500 per grant), $6,000 available

• Nonprofit (max $2500 per grant), $10,000 available

• Youth Beautification ($500 max), $1,500 available

New Business

The external audit review of fiscal year 2025 conducted by Jennifer LaHue was reviewed.

Annual meeting details were discussed. It will be held on Wednesday, September 30, at the Fairfax School.
