The Fairfax Improvement Foundation (FIF) presented the Fairfax R-3 School with a check for $112,130.00 Friday evening at the Fairfax Fair. In March of this year the Fairfax Improvement Foundation was informed they were eligible to receive a matching grant from The Patterson Family Foundation.  Since the original Fairfax High School building is 100 years old this year it was decided to raise $100,000.00 to commemorate this event. The guidelines to receive the matching funds required that they had to be received within a 30 day period. Fundraising began May 15 with a kick-off at the alumni banquet and concluded June 15. The total amount received, including the match, was $112,130.00. FIF received donations from coast to coast and border to border from 15 different states.
