Local businesses, clubs and organizations are invited to set up booths, games, and activities of all kinds for Rock Port’s Old Fashioned Saturday Night September 19. More game booths are needed. Please consider joining the fun by setting up a game or activity for the kids to play. Contact Betty Stoner at 660-787-0531 (call or text) for a registration form or find one on the Rock Port Chamber Facebook page. The fee for a booth is $10.00 and can be paid the night of the event. If you want the same spot as you have had before please let Betty know so she can reserve it for you. The spots will be done on a first come, first served basis. All registration forms need to be turned in by September 8.

Join the Atchison County Library this week and next for fun-filled activities. On September 10, join the Book Club for book puzzles and other fun for book lovers at the Fairfax branch at 6:00 p.m. On September 15, pop into the library at Fairfax. The first 20 people to renew their library card will receive a free popcorn from Stillwell’s Outdoor Krazy Korn (food vendor open to the public as well). “First 20 promotion” runs from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tarkio Tech is hosting a campus cleanup this Friday and Saturday, September 11 and 12. Volunteers are needed to beautify the property. Please contact the school if you are able to assist or comment on Amy Hughes’ Facebook post about the event.

The Fairfax Marching Pride will be marching down Main Street in Fairfax, Missouri, Friday, September 11, at 8:15 a.m. The band members will be in full uniform. This will be a practice run for their next parade, which will be Saturday, September 12, at 1 p.m. in Hamburg, Iowa.

The Mule Barn Theatre Guild is hosting a Pickleball Tournament Sunday, September 13, at the Joseph Stevenson Memorial Tennis Courts, located at the intersection of Hwy. 59 and Maple Street in Tarkio.
