The three branches (Rock Port, Tarkio, and Fairfax) of the Atchison County Library have a lot of fun things happening! Check out the following schedule of events:

Sept. 8 – Coffee Talk – A casual gathering to chat about books at the Rock Port branch, 10:00 a.m.

Sept. 10 – Book Club – Book puzzles, casual activity for book lovers at the Fairfax branch, 6:00 p.m.

Sept. 11 – Battle of the Books Practice – This is for elementary 4th-6th grade teams competing in the Battle of the Books competition this coming spring, at the Tarkio branch, 4:00 p.m.

Sept. 14 & 21 – Mahjong Lessons – Must be signed up, at the Rock Port branch, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Sept. 15 – Pop into the Library at Fairfax – The first 20 people to renew their library card will receive a free popcorn from Stillwell’s Outdoor Krazy Korn (food vendor open to the public as well). “First 20 promotion” runs from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sept. 17 – Third Thursday – Storytime, crafts and activities for children ages 0-4 years old and their parents, at the Tarkio branch, 10:00 a.m. No registration needed.

Sept. 18 – Battle of the Books Practice, at the Rock Port branch, 4:00 p.m.

Sept. 28 – Author Speaker & Book Signing Series with Virginia Ripple – Listen to Virginia share information about her books, at the Tarkio branch, 6:00 p.m.

Sept. 29 – Lego Night – Casual gathering for all ages, at the Rock Port branch, open from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Oct. 6 – Battle of the Books Practice, at the Fairfax branch, 3:30 p.m.
