It’s almost time for one of Tarkio’s favorite traditions! Grab your friends, bring the kids, and join the Tarkio Parks & Recreation Board, as well as local businesses, organizations, and vendors for the annual Friendship Day weekend.

The festivities begin on Friday, October 2, with free flowers handed out at the Flower Mill on Main Street in Tarkio beginning at 7 a.m. Grab a flower for you and a flower for a friend. Supplies are limited so don’t wait.

On Saturday, October 3, Main Street in Tarkio will be full of bounce houses, water fun, games, food vendors, business and organization vendors, and more from 4 to 8 p.m.! For children wanting to play the games, there is a $5 admission fee (this comes with a free hot dog and water). There is no admission fee for anyone just browsing the vendor booths. For anyone wanting to set up a booth, the cost is $25 (contact Karly Hicks at 660-623-0664 or Ashlee Driskell at 816-341-8241 to reserve your spot). Come join the fun and bring your friends!

The Friendship Day Color Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, October 4. Registration will be held from 12 to 12:45 p.m. and the 5K begins at 1 p.m. (the location is yet to be determined). For more information, visit the Tarkio Parks and Recreation Facebook page.
