The City of Fairfax Board of Aldermen held a regular meeting September 20, 2026.

Meeting was called to order by Tabitha Wintz, mayor, at 5:30 pm. Roll was taken. Also in attendance were: Ashley Grossman, Ryan Kingery, Stephanie Stevens, and Debra Wyatt, aldermen;  Christy Stevens, city clerk; and  Mike Lewis, public works superintendent.

The tentative agenda was unanimously approved.

The aldermen voted to approve the regular minutes of August 24, 2026.

They also approved accounts payable.

New Business

Bill #2026-02 titled “An ordinance of the City of Fairfax, Missouri, charging customers for damagers the customer has caused to their water meter” was presented to the council and read by title by Tabitha Wintz. The aldermen voted unanimously to approve Bill #2026-02 and it is now Ordinance #2026-09-1581.

Bill #2026-03 titled “An ordinance of the City of Fairfax, Missouri, charging customers late fees on bulk water, rock or any other non-utility services billed by the city” was presented to the council and read by title by Tabitha Wintz. The aldermen voted unanimously to approve Bill #2026-03 and it is now Ordinance #2026-09-1582.

The mayor was approached to see about a Cub Scout doing a city project to help him earn a badge. The aldermen voted unanimously to allow the Cub Scout to do a project at the park and baseball field. Mike will get with the Cub Scout to work together on getting updates done to the park and ballfield.

Staff Reports

Terry Miller, city treasurer, reported that all accounts are in balance.

Mike Lewis, public works superintendent, reported the new city truck is working great and the snow plow is scheduled to be mounted on this week. Mike and Ky will work on filling potholes and will need to order some more mix soon. At the end of the month they will discharge the lagoon.

Christy Stevens, city clerk, told the council about some time off she will be having. A sign will be posted on the front door of city hall and the dates will be posted on Facebook.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:20 p.m. The next meeting is Wednesday, October 21, at 5:30 p.m.
