East Atchison hosted the South Holt Knights on Friday night, September 18, in Tarkio, Missouri. Both teams were looking to get things going as they both entered the game not having won a game this season.

The first quarter got off to a slow start before South Holt was able to find the end zone with just over three minutes remaining.

The second quarter was much the same as each team struggled to get their offense going. With just over a minute left in the first half, quarterback Brody Wennihan would hit Josh Schlueter, who took it to the three yard line before Wennihan would punch it in to tie the ball game at 6 to 6 going into halftime.

South Holt would receive the ball to start the second half. The Knights took five minutes off the clock before scoring and making the two-point conversion, giving them a 14-6 lead. On the next series the Wolves would move the ball down the field with a 20 yard pass to Josh Schlueter and a run by Braxton Davis-Schoonover. Brody Wennihan would come out and Schlueter stepped in as quarterback where he would scramble and dive for the end zone bringing the score to 12-14.

With the final seconds ticking off the clock Wennihan hit Mason Kingery, who took it 60 yards to the house and the Wolves regained the lead 18-14 with :08 seconds left in the third.

Following the kick-off a bad snap was recovered by defensive lineman Jax Peregrine, setting the Wolves up on the 13 yard line. The Wolves were unable to capitalize on the fumble but the next series Wennihan would connect with Davis-Schoonover for a 45-yard pass. This was followed by a quarterback keeper by Wennihan for six points and the two-point conversion was caught by Mason Kingery for the final score of the game, 24-14.

The East Atchison Wolves are host to Platte Valley this Friday, September 25, in Tarkio.
