The Osborn / Stewartsville WildCards came to Rock Port on Friday night, September 25, looking for the upset. This team had scored an average of 45 to 50 points a game, so offensively they could not be overlooked. The Blue Jays were prepared as the defense held the WildCards to only five first downs and scoreless until the last second as they threw a touchdown pass as time expired on the clock.
From the opening whistle, the Blue Jays came to play. Offensively, Rock Port totaled 375 yards, 185 rushing and 190 receiving. Brock Sebek-Holmes led the team with four touchdowns, 161 yards rushing, and 57 yards receiving. Jack Meyerkorth also had a good game with two touchdowns, 24 yards rushing, 104 receiving, and two interceptions which the offense was able to capitalize on. Reid Ellis added a touchdown and 29 yards receiving, along with an interception and 12 tackles. Defensively, Jadyn Geib led the team with 15 tackles. This was a good team but the Jays took care of business.
The final score was 52-8.
Rock Port is at home this Friday, October 2, taking on the DeKalb Tigers for their Pink Out game.
