The Northwest Missouri Sportsman’s Club will be sponsoring a virtual check station for youth deer season October 24 and 25. This year’s check station will be done via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/nwmosportsmansclub.

To participate, simply send a Facebook message with a picture of your hunter with their harvested deer along with the name of the hunter. Feel free to include any information about the hunt as well. The pictures and information will be posted on their Facebook page at the conclusion of the youth weekend for all of their followers to see. Every hunter who submits a picture/info will be signed up for several hundred dollars in prize drawings.

The youth deer hunting portions for the 2026-2027 season in Missouri are split into two periods according to the Missouri Department of Conservation:

• Early Youth Portion: October 24-25, 2026 (moved one week earlier to avoid Halloween conflicts)

• Late Youth Portion: November 27-29, 2026

Hunters must be at least 6 years old and no older than 15 on the opening day of the early youth portion (October 24, 2026).

Be safe in the woods and good luck to all the youth hunters!
