Senior running back Braxton Davis-Schoonover reaches out with the ball to break the plane of the goal line for an easy six points.

Senior center Alex Martin is set to snap the ball to quarterback Josh Schlueter, who calls out the cadence.

Knox Oswald busts through the line to get a quarterback sack against DeKalb.

A pack of seniors all converge on the first play of the game as Braxton Davis-Schoonover, Brody Wennihan, and Gavin Mattice get into the back field.

Parker Livengood and Brody Wennihan wrap up the DeKalb quarterback.

During halftime the East Atchison girls’ golf team was honored for their third place team finish at the State Golf Tournament. Pictured, from left to right, are Brilee Slemp, Danika Agnew, Savanna Lindsey, Star Hankins, and Avery Fast.

The Wolves’ dance team performed during halftime. Dancers are Mackenzie Oswald, Mikayla Windham, Taya Windham, Makenna Caudill, and Grace Caudill.
East Atchison hosted the DeKalb Tigers for the final game of the regular season and Senior Night. For October 23, it was a beautiful evening to watch the Wolves finish their season strong with a 46 to 30 win over the Tigers.
DeKalb struck first in the first half with a long run for six, but the Wolves wasted no time answering, moving the ball down the field to the three yard line before Josh Schlueter handed off to Brody Wennihan for the first of three touchdowns. Wennihan followed that up with the two point conversion.
This would be a back and forth for the Wolves and the Tigers as DeKalb would put up 12 more points and the Wolves would add 16 to bring the score at half-time to 24-18 EA. The conversation at half must have done its job as the Wolves’ offense came out after half and put up 22 more points with seniors Brody Wennihan and Braxton Davis-Schoonover doing most of the scoring for the wolves. Defensively East Atchison only allowed two touchdown the entire second half. Leading tacklers were Braxton Davis-Schoonover with 12 and Knox Oswald with 11.
District action will start Friday, October 30, with the first round at North Andrew. The game starts at 7:00 p.m. Good luck Wolves!
