Present at the meeting were: Curtis Livengood, Presiding Commissioner; Jim Quimby, North District Commissioner; Richard Burke, South District Commissioner; Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission; and Okema Galston, Administrative Assistant of the Commission.
Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Month-end department reports were reviewed and approved.
Jack Wiley, Building Maintenance Supervisor, was in to give updates on the landscaping project along the front steps on the west side of the courthouse. The project was supposed to start in July, however, it just started this week. The new landscaping should help with the washing out and erosion along the steps when it rains.
Matt Fazio with Great River Engineering presented the commission with a corrected document to sign for the BRO-R003 (25). Present during discussion were Kenny Wallace, Road and Bridge Supervisor, and Allison Cherry, secretary. Mr. Fazio stated that on October 8, Spencer Jones with Great River Engineering presented the commission with a change order for BRO-R003 (25). Mr. Jones stated that Bent 3 on BRO-R003 (25) had been partially constructed and is not in the correct location. He reported that they believe it to be due to a misplaced construction stake set by Great River Engineering. As such, Great River Engineering believes that Bent 3 needs to be corrected at their expense. Great River Engineering has been in contact with their insurance company and agrees that the cost is with them, as they were the ones who made the error. It was also incorrectly stated in the commission minutes that it was BRO-R003 (26). Presiding Commissioner Livengood made a motion to sign the corrected change order for Great River Engineering to pay A.M. Cohort & Son, Inc., $86,807.00 for the demolition and reconstruction of Bent 3 on BRO-R003 (25). South District Commissioner Richard Burke seconded the motion. The commissioners voted unanimously to approve the change order.
Mr. Fazio also presented the commission with a limited release agreement between the contracting company, A.M. Cohort & Son, Inc., and Atchison County regarding the insurance payment for the purpose of removal and reconstruction of Bent 3 on project BRO-R003 (25). The full limited release agreement will be attached to the permanent record of the commission minutes.
Jim Crawford with the University of Missouri Extension Council met with the commission and gave updates. He originally wanted to introduce Maddie Hensley, the new 4H-YPA, however, she was not able to attend and will meet the commission at a later date.
There being no further business, the commission adjourned.
