Community Hospital-Fairfax has announced the launch of a new ear, nose and throat (ENT) clinic, increasing access to specialized care for patients throughout northwest Missouri. Leading the new clinic is Dr. Anna Lawrence, a fellowship-trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and otolaryngologist, who will begin seeing patients on December 2, 2026.
Dr. Lawrence specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, face, head, and neck. She completed medical school and a five-year residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where her training focused exclusively on this complex area of medicine.
Throughout her education and surgical training, Dr. Lawrence earned numerous honors recognizing both academic excellence and compassionate patient care, including induction into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She has also authored several peer-reviewed publications focused on patient-centered care, quality improvement, and postoperative outcomes.
Following residency, Dr. Lawrence completed fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, further advancing her expertise in the intricate anatomy of the face and neck. Her training under nationally recognized leaders in the field reinforced her commitment to delivering thoughtful, individualized care for every patient.
“We are excited to introduce ENT services to Community Hospital-Fairfax and welcome Dr. Lawrence to our team,” said Ann Schlueter, CEO of Community Hospital-Fairfax. “Our community has expressed a strong desire for local ENT care for many years, but attracting this type of specialty service to a rural area can be difficult. We are thrilled to bring this highly requested service closer to home and provide our patients with access to the exceptional care and expertise Dr. Lawrence offers.”
Dr. Lawrence currently practices in the Kansas City area and lives in Prairie Village with her husband and son. She and her family are excited to welcome another son in the coming months. Outside of medicine, she enjoys running, reading, and cooking for family and friends. A former competitive swimmer, she values the relationships she builds with patients and the communities she serves.
The addition of ENT services continues Community Hospital-Fairfax’s efforts to expand care based on the needs of the region. Over the past year, the hospital has grown its general surgery program, expanded OB/GYN clinic and surgical services, and enhanced orthopedic offerings. The new ENT clinic builds on that momentum, bringing another highly requested specialty service to local patients.
Dr. Lawrence will see patients in the outpatient clinic on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
While tonsillectomy procedures will not initially be offered at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Dr. Lawrence will be available to evaluate patients and coordinate care as needed. The hospital will continue exploring opportunities to further expand ENT services in the future.
