The Atchison County Library’s Summer Reading Program began Monday, June 22, 2026, at the Tarkio Resource Center. The program includes reading sessions, crafts, and some outdoor activities, including a game of kickball that kept the kids moving on Monday morning.

Inspired by the 2026 national theme “Unearth a Story,” this year’s Summer Reading Program features a wide variety of activities designed to encourage creativity, learning, and exploration with dinosaurs in mind. Even the kids’ outdoor activities on Monday morning included some inflated dino friends.
